Safety & Scope

Safety · Suitability · Professional boundaries

Clear scope is part of feeling safe.

Balanced Wellness brings LPG Endermologie, private Reformer Pilates, personal training and health coaching together without pretending they are medical care. Screening, honest communication and appropriate referral protect the person behind every appointment.

No diagnosis · No guaranteed outcomes · Informed participation · Referral when appropriate

A continuing process

Safety is not a form completed once.

Suitability can change before, during or between appointments. The plan should change when the information changes.

Disclose

You share relevant health, medication, injury, treatment, pregnancy and symptom information honestly before practical work begins.

Screen

Davina considers the information within her training, the specific service guidance and any insurer or equipment requirements.

Adapt or pause

The session may proceed as planned, be modified, move to another area, wait for recovery or require professional clearance.

Review

Your response and any new information are considered again. Suitability for one appointment does not guarantee suitability forever.

Before every relevant appointment

Tell Davina what could change the decision.

A condition does not automatically mean that every Balanced Wellness service is unsuitable. It does mean Davina needs accurate information rather than having to guess.

Share relevant diagnoses, new or unexplained symptoms, medication, injuries, surgery, injections, pregnancy or postnatal status, current infections or skin changes, and advice you have received from a healthcare professional. Also mention anything that has changed since your consultation.

When in doubt, disclose it.

Davina can decide whether it is relevant to her service. Withholding information can remove the opportunity to adapt safely or request appropriate advice.

Four services, four boundaries

What each pathway can—and cannot—be asked to do.

Davina may connect insights across the four pathways, but the professional scope of each remains distinct.

LPG Endermologie safety

Screen first. Never use a web list to clear yourself.

Contraindications can apply to the whole treatment, a particular area or a particular time. The correct decision depends on accurate screening and current practitioner guidance.

Discuss before booking or treatment

Official LPG guidance identifies strict contraindications.

The current public LPG FAQ includes active cancer, infection or skin rash, inflammatory flare-up, anticoagulant treatment and blood disorders among its strict contraindications. Its face and body lists differ and include further circumstances.

  • Recent surgery, cosmetic procedures or injections
  • Organ transplant, renal or circulatory concerns
  • Herpes, inflamed or infected skin, or treatment-area changes
  • Unexplained or persistent pain
  • Anything identified in Davina’s current LPG training materials
What this means in practice

The list is not exhaustive.

Davina must use the current guidance for her equipment, training and insurance—not this page alone. Medical advice or written clearance may be requested, and clearance does not oblige Davina to proceed.

  • Screen before the first relevant treatment
  • Recheck after a health or medication change
  • Avoid or adapt a particular treatment area when required
  • Stop if unexpected pain or concerning symptoms occur
  • Postpone when safe suitability cannot be established

Confirm this wording against her current LPG portal materials, the exact device and protocols used, consultation documentation and insurance requirements before publication.

Pilates and personal training

Exercise can be adjusted. Unexplained warning signs should not be trained through.

Effort, unfamiliarity and ordinary muscular fatigue are not the same as pain, sudden illness or a symptom that requires assessment.

Davina can change load, range, position, complexity or pace within her qualifications. She cannot diagnose the cause of pain or use exercise to overrule a medical restriction. New injury, recent surgery, pregnancy, significant symptom change or return after illness may require adaptation or professional input [Davina to confirm screening policy].

  • Report pain, dizziness, unusual breathlessness or feeling faint immediately
  • Do not conceal a symptom to finish a session
  • Stop when Davina asks you to stop
  • Seek appropriate medical or physiotherapy assessment when advised
  • Return only when the relevant concern has been addressed
Urgent symptoms

A wellness appointment is not emergency care.

If you have sudden chest pain or pressure that does not go away, severe difficulty breathing, loss of consciousness or another possible medical emergency, call 999. Do not wait for Davina to assess it and do not travel to the studio first.

For urgent but non-life-threatening concerns in England, NHS 111 can advise. If you are worried about recurring or unexplained symptoms, contact an appropriate healthcare professional.

Health coaching

Support for change—not diagnosis or treatment.

Coaching can help someone clarify priorities, understand patterns, make choices and build realistic action. It does not turn Davina into a doctor, dietitian, psychologist or psychotherapist.

Davina should work within the scope defined by her verified qualification and insurance. If a conversation reveals needs requiring clinical nutrition, mental-health treatment, crisis support, medical review or another regulated service, coaching should not be used as a substitute.

Read the UK & International Health Coaching Association’s general scope explanation. This link does not claim Davina is a member. Membership status is [Davina to confirm].

Clear limits protect the relationship
  • No diagnosis or interpretation of symptoms
  • No prescribing, stopping or changing medication
  • No personalised clinical dietetic treatment unless separately qualified
  • No psychotherapy, trauma processing or crisis intervention
  • No promise that behaviour change will cure a condition
  • No conflict with advice from an appropriate healthcare professional
Consent, dignity and information

Consent is a continuing conversation, not a signature that removes your voice.

Consent

Understand before agreeing

Davina should explain the relevant activity, treatment, positioning or hands-on guidance and answer questions. You may ask to pause or decline an element. [Exact consent procedure: Davina to confirm.]

Dignity

Privacy without judgement

Clothing, positioning, treatment areas and personal conversation should be handled respectfully in the private studio. Any chaperone or guest policy is [Davina to confirm].

Information

Relevant and discreet

Collect only information needed for the service, explain how records are used and protect identifiable health information. The final privacy notice and retention process are [Davina to confirm].

When another professional is the right step

Referral is responsible practice, not rejection.

Davina may recommend that you speak to a GP, physiotherapist, registered dietitian, mental-health professional or another suitably qualified practitioner before continuing or instead of a Balanced Wellness service.

She should explain the boundary she has identified without diagnosing the problem. You remain free to choose the professional you consult. If Davina suggests a named practitioner, any commercial relationship or referral benefit should be disclosed [Davina to confirm].

  • The concern falls outside Davina’s qualifications or insurance
  • A contraindication, red flag or unexplained symptom needs assessment
  • Progress is not following the expected pattern
  • A client needs treatment rather than coaching
  • Continuing would not be responsible without additional information
Safety questions

Clear answers before you proceed.

Does Davina diagnose injuries or health conditions?

No. Balanced Wellness does not diagnose injuries, symptoms or disease. Davina can observe what is relevant to her service, work within her verified qualifications and recommend appropriate assessment when a concern is outside scope.

Can I attend if I have a medical condition?

Possibly, but the answer depends on the condition, current symptoms, service, relevant guidance and Davina’s scope. Disclose it before booking. Medical advice or clearance may be required, and clearance does not guarantee that Davina must proceed.

Is LPG Endermologie suitable for everyone?

No. LPG identifies strict contraindications and additional precautions. Screening is required, and a treatment or particular area may need to be adapted, postponed or declined.

What if I develop a new symptom after booking?

Tell Davina before the appointment rather than waiting until practical work begins. Seek appropriate medical help directly if the symptom is urgent or concerning.

Can Davina change advice given by my doctor or physiotherapist?

No. She can ask for clarification, adapt within her own scope or suggest that you return to the relevant professional. Balanced Wellness should not overrule clinical restrictions or medication advice.

Does health coaching include therapy or a prescribed diet?

No. Coaching supports reflection and health behaviour change. It is not psychotherapy, crisis care, medical nutrition therapy or dietetic treatment unless the practitioner separately holds and clearly contracts under the relevant qualification—which is not claimed here.

Can I withdraw consent during a session?

You can ask a question, request a pause or decline an element. Davina must confirm the exact consent and cancellation implications that apply once a paid service has begun.

How can I verify Davina’s qualifications and insurance?

The website will publish exact qualification titles, providers, dates, current memberships, first-aid status and insurance only after Davina has verified them. You may ask her directly for relevant professional information.

If something may affect suitability

Tell Davina before you book.

You do not need to decide whether the information is important. Explain what is happening, which service you are considering and any advice you have already received.
